Typical crap, typical solutions... Todays Rant!
Like always there's more crap going on in the world than it's save for the people in it. I'm thought not going to spend time on ranting about it here since most of it is technical and is related to games development. Too many bad developments in the last years. The bad awakening is going to happen soon but while others just follow the Lemmings over the cliffs I'm more into doing something against it. So in contrary to me usually not bringing personal projects into a journal like this: support the Drag[en]gine Project! Support a free game engine project with AAA qualities to give back the power to the creative people, to fight against DRM and OS dominance ( windows sucks for gaming, believe me, I know it since I dev for both systems ) and to fight against bug-galores ( more and more complex games in the same time calls for bugged releases, no matter if you are genius or not ). So in this sense, have a nice day.

News from the ticker

I'm really buried in work right now and barely manage to take some time off for some recreation projects ( as the IDramon Fun Project for example ). But the engine is coming along well although I'm hitting strong resistance on the Graphics front. Looks like I have to play my last trump card, GPU4 support. I wanted to avoid this but as it looks there's no other way to get the real punch rolling. Turns the default Graphic Module into a pure high-end Graphic Module but players can choose so this is not an issue in the end. I'm still aiming for a release end this year but this is going to be a tight call as I also have to write my Master Thesis and I definitely could have picked an easier topic. But hey that's me. I always play games on the hardest settings so I somehow attract the tough jobs :D . More to come soon hopefully. I definitely keep the ball rolling.

Future Projects ( Fun-Projos )

Somehow I always had my plans on what I wanted to model but never go the time. Still for some of those fun-projects I collected already the needed reference images and once I can slack off a bit from my rather busy real life I will try to get those guys done. Most of the characters or creatures I somehow stumble across on television or on the world-wide-waste. So if you are a fan boy of one or the other please don't go after me. Of most of the stuff here I have nearly no knowledge except some pictures which stung my eyes. At other places though I know what I speak off so don't try to find that out, ok? I have chosen those characters either because I like them or because I see some challenge in doing them. So here for the list in no particular order.

People somehow related to the Epsylon Project

This section devotes to people who showed interest in taking part in the Epsylon Game Projector that are already part of it or are otherwise affiliated with the project. Many thanks for the interest in contributing work at this place. The world needs more people doing something to share and building together a great project and not simply sitting egoistically on their work. I started this project as community project instead of yet another commercial project and it did already attract a couple of people and interest which I did not think at the beginning. :thumbsup: to the helpers in the background who make this all possible.

There are still jobs open. Currently we are in need of people able to Skin 3D Models and/or creating World Textures (things like urban textures, nature textures, technical textures). If you are interested just send me a Note. Also Mappers and Animators are welcome. Working with Blender3D is not a must but warmly recommended. Only serious applications! This project needs people with the will to get things through to the end. This is not a one month job. Making a game like this takes a lot of time.

The Good People

I always hatted those icon collections of good people as it somehow puts the 'bad' stamp on all the other people that know you. Still some people really stand out of the mass that floods DA on a daily basis and as I have been mentioned on other peoples lists already I think it is just fair to give some credit back. FoxDF  ==> Nice guy to talk with. Is engaged in a Game-Dev project too.
Grogdon ==> Besides doing concept art for the Epsylon Project he leads his own Mod-Project.
Windy999 ==> Besides producing really nice Beasty-Series he devotes to promote Backyard Trees. This deserves to be mentioned especially.



Clubs

Major reason for this journal entry to place credits to the clubs I am in. Just a shame DA ruins all with their fucking stupid limitations. Here it goes in no particular order.
